The Wales head coach says England's squad depth is remarkable that a boxing promoter would not pair them with the Welsh team.

Bellamy's men meet their neighbors in a friendly at Wembley on this Thursday before their important qualifying match against the Belgians next the following week.

National team coach Thomas Tuchel has omitted the such as Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Grealish from his selection for the Wales friendly and their World Cup qualifier against the Latvian team.

"England have a ridiculous squad, similar to the French," the coach said.

"England have a market valuation of 1.4 billion pounds, Wales' is £170m. If you were a boxing promoter, you would not put us together. That wouldn't be permitted."

He says making sure the Welsh team can compete with the talented rivals is a "driving force".

The Wales head coach continued: "Our team do not rely on market prices, but the reality is they have more than a single lineup. They possess multiple and France and other nations have the same level. They have many great players and that's a fact."

"A defender was ruled out injured the recently and there are 24 more to go! They've got over sixty players. I'd love Wales to be stacked similarly."

The neighbouring countries last faced each other at the 2022 tournament in Qatar, when England emerged as easy 3-0 winners in a fixture before Gareth Southgate's side made it to the quarter-finals.

Southgate's successor is Thomas Tuchel, a Champions League and Fifa Club World Cup champion at Chelsea who has won league championships in France and his home country.

The Welsh boss was previously an assistant at Anderlecht and the English club to Vincent Kompany, who replaced him at Bayern Munich.

"He's an outstanding manager - his record speak for themselves," he noted.

"I possess some sort of understanding because the team he departed I know individuals who have gone in there. I gain a bit of an insight from that of his methods and it's very impressive. "

"His strategic planning is top level and I aimed to be facing such a challenge - observe how we adjust because he will. I can learn from it. I aspire to get to that level."
