It was previously announced that The Simpsons was collaborating with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be usable in Fortnite. However, whether players will actually want to use it is a different matter, as fans have their hearts set on just one Simpsons car the community is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.

What Fans Really Want

While many gamers would undoubtedly love to face off behind the wheel of The Homer—the notoriously impractical car Homer built personally in the classic installment "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. Not even getting the Canyonero, the enormous vehicle showcased in the tenth season. Rather, fans are getting the family's everyday beat-up sedan, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Though this specific vehicle has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an iconic symbol of the show. For those who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the trusty sedan uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

But that's not the sole customization item from the show coming to the game. The event will also include a set of challenges to unlock additional goodies, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a press release, the missions will require participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to the Simpson residence, and travel a specific distance worthy of acquiring the ideal pastries!"

Although the complete list of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:

• Blinky antenna topper
• Homer's hedge-themed banner
• Waste wheels
• 20,000 experience points for each challenge

Based on promotional images is any indication, it appears players will also get wheels with a TV displaying The Simpsons' title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.

Launch Dates and Crossover Details

The Rocket League collaboration coincides with the extensive Simpsons takeover of Fortnite's island, which brings a completely new map of Springfield, as well as a 30-day seasonal progression system. This special Rocket League and Simpsons event launches on Saturday, Nov. 1 and ends on November 17th.
